OTHER TRAP DESIGNS SUITABLE FOR NEPTUNE TRIGGERS - There are pot and trap fisheries that exist in other areas of the world that could benefit from the use of Neptune triggers. Fish pots from the Caribbean, Australia and the Middle East can usually be modified with Neptune triggers to create better fishing pots. With a variety of shapes and sizes, Neptune triggers can be made to fit many existing pots and traps.

AQUACULTURE USES - Fish pots have potential in harvesting various aquaculture species. In mixed age stocks, the use of pots can allow the selective harvest of various species. Wild fish and shellfish populations in lakes owned by private land owners, are ideally suited for selectively catching only mature fish or shellfish. Some Nebraska ranchers with "pothole" lakes on their property are experimenting with Neptune triggers to catch white perch in their lakes. They might also be able to harvest catfish as well. The use of privately owned lakes also makes for an ideal situation for those wanting to raise either fish or crawfish. Harvesting the crawfish with pots creates the opportunity to just pick out the larger animals. The smaller animals are returned to the lake unharmed for future harvest.
