We have been getting an increasing number of Atlantic fishermen contacting us about catching fish with Neptune modified fish pots. We decided to do an Atlantic edition of our Neptune Newsletter to help inform fishermen about catching fish with Neptune equipped pots. Neptune manufactures plastic components that are used to create 1-way entrance devices call Triggers. They have proven effective in catching fish and shellfish species worldwide over the past 14 years. We think there are applications in the North Atlantic as well.

Neptune Cod Triggers were instrumental in the development of the Alaska cod pot fishery in the late 1980’s. Crab fishermen originally used Neptune equipped crab pots to catch cod for crab bait. It proved so effective in catching Pacific cod that a directed fishery developed
